Kojima's Korean Karatsu ware is very popular. Korean Karatsu is a technique of potters who came to Karatsu from the Korean Peninsula and eventually came to be called "Korean Karatsu". It is characterized by the application of black candy glaze (iron-based black glaze) and straw ash glaze (opaque white glaze), which creates a beautiful contrast between black and white. The "bleeding" of the mixed parts, and the blue and yellow scenery that appears at the borders are also highlights. The fineness of this bleeding is one of the reasons for its popularity. The inside is white, so the color of the sake stands out and is a feast for the eyes. It can be used not only as a sake vessel, but also as a small bowl or for homemade sauces.
