A beautiful single flower vase made of moist white porcelain with a beautiful blue gradation created by the traditional Arita ware technique, “blowing ink（fukizumi）”. The size is adorable and fits in your hand, and it looks like a picture just by placing it there. Since it is a small vase, it can be enjoyed even in limited spaces such as the kitchen, entryway, or bathroom, and I think it would also go well with wild flowers picked from the roadside. The name of the work, “Henko”, has a distinctive form (the pot is pressed tightly from both sides to make it flat), but it is actually a pot that was used in ancient Egypt, China in the B.C., and Japan in the Momoyama period. It is a type of vessel that has been made in various regions since ancient times, and seems to have been primarily used to hold and carry sake. Another important point is that the mouth is pursed so that water does not easily evaporate.
