Yuki's unique glaze drops are applied over bold brush strokes (sometsuke) using traditional Arita ware gosu (a deep blue pigment). The finishing glaze is transparent, but by deliberately not applying it over the entire piece, some parts of the base gosu do not turn blue, creating an interesting look and feel, including the texture. This piece is a masterpiece handcrafted by Inoue Yuki and formed on a potter's wheel. The designs are born by chance, so no two pieces are the same.
