Arita ware | Akio Momota | blue and white porcelain, 4-inch rim plate

This rimmed plate has a lovely shape. It can be used as a small bowl or a soup plate, making it a very versatile dish. This piece is Momota's latest design, and is also used as a pudding dish at the bakery cafe "bakery and art cafe lier" that Momota opened last July. Blue-white porcelain is a type of white porcelain that is colored a pale blue-white due to trace amounts of iron contained in the glaze. This piece is made from Amakusa pottery stone, the world's finest pottery stone, and each piece is carefully turned on a potter's wheel and made by hand.

Introducing "bakery and art cafe lier" This is a bakery cafe run by Mr. Momota's daughter and her husband. The bread and coffee are delicious and the cafe is very popular every day.
