Madarakaratsu is fired with a cloudy straw ash glaze and is characterized by its soft, white atmosphere. This piece is notable for its beautifully detailed penetration, and the clay used is rare Hieda clay. It is made of sandstone, the raw material of glass, and when fired at high temperatures, it hardens and hardens, giving it a rough and strong clay flavor. This clay flavor is the characteristic of Karatsu ware that attracts people. The more the sake cup is used, the more deeply it changes in flavor. Please enjoy the process of growing and changing. The clay of Hieda is from the Kitahata area at the foot of Mt. Kishidake in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, and the Kitahata area is said to be the birthplace of Karatsu ware.
