This work was fired in the “dogi no ma” (the lowest room of the kiln), and its greatest feature is the ash-covered Yohen(kiln change). The "kutsu" in the title is derived from the shape of the wooden clogs worn by aristocrats and nobles when playing kemari (a traditional Japanese game of kemari), and refers to a similar shape with a greatly distorted rim. It has a double foot ring, and the rough clay and shine unique to Karatsu ware are also attractive. It is said that e-karatsu, a type of Karatsu ware, was the first to be painted in Japan. The technique is used on a variety of vessels, and plants, flowers, birds, and the like are mainly depicted. The more a sake vessel is used, the more it changes and becomes more tasteful. Please enjoy the process of it nurturing and changing.
