Madara Karatsu is characterized by a soft white appearance, as it is fired with a milky white straw ash glaze. The base is made of shell, allowing you to enjoy the rough and powerful earthen taste. The inside is also white, so the color of the sake stands out and can be enjoyed visually. The clay used is rare Hieda clay. The more the sake vessel is used, the more it becomes flavorful and changes. Enjoy the process of it nurturing and changing. *Hieda clay is clay from the Kitahata area at the foot of Mt. Kishi in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, and the Kitahata area is said to be the birthplace of Karatsu ware.
