Madarakaratsu is fired with a cloudy straw ash glaze and is characterized by its white and soft atmosphere. This piece has a brownish-brown color caused by the flame. The clay used is from Yamase in Karatsu, known as the clay of old Karatsu, and has a beautiful loquat color. The white exterior of the sake cups allows the color of the sake to shine through, making them pleasing to the eye as well. The more the sake cup is used, the more it changes in flavor.
