This summer, with the theme of ``The World of White Porcelain'', we will be introducing white porcelain works perfect for the hot summer in a series with four artists, featuring transparent white skin and a cool pale blue glaze.

The second author in the series is Yuki Inoue (author living in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture). He is the third generation owner of Inoue Manji Kiln, a kiln that represents Arita ware. Yuki's grandfather, Manji Inoue, is a modern master craftsman who has mastered traditional white porcelain production techniques and is a holder of an important intangible cultural property, ``white porcelain'' (Living National Treasure). Although Yuki has inherited traditional techniques from his grandfather, he has developed his own unique style and is actively working on collaborations with fashion brands and other industries in order to develop Arita ware. The works created using a technique called ``Yuteki'', which is a fusion of traditional techniques and modern art, captivate the viewers. He is a hot topic ceramic artist who is bringing a new style to Arita ware.

We would like to introduce some of Yuki Inoue's works that combine traditional techniques and contemporary art. First, let's look at the “glaze droplet” work.

Also called dripping, this is a technique in which a brush soaked in glaze is moved in a waving motion, and the resulting drops are used to paint. Because dynamic designs are created by chance, no two pieces are alike. Unlike the image of beautiful Arita ware painted with colorful paints, this is Yuki's unique style.

A work called ``Waremono Chui ''

This work was inspired by the "Beware of Fragile Items" stickers that are placed on cardboard boxes when shipping products. The “Beware of Fragile Items” stickers are familiar to Yuki, and she has always been interested in their strong message. It is said that this work was created in which the container and the sticker coexist, with the desire to have the container used with more care. The series, which has a message of ``Beware of Fragile Items'' drawn on white glaze droplets, has Yuki's sense of humor, and is said to be especially popular among people who like graffiti art and other cultures.

Introducing Yuki's new work.

A coffee cup and saucer that allows you to enjoy both pure white porcelain and beautiful glaze. Available in ``beige x red'' and ``gray x green,'' each has an attractive contrast with the color of the elevated part, and the capacity is approximately 125ml, which is the standard size for a coffee cup.

Crystal glaze coffee bowl BEIGE×RED

This coffee cup has an elegant atmosphere with crystal glaze that gives off colors such as beige and gold. Also, the vermilion color of the foot ring gives it a pop impression. The well-balanced work, which combines elegance and pop, is a work that shines through the unique sense of Yuki, who has a background in the apparel industry.

Crystal glaze coffee bowl GRAY×GREEN

This one has beautiful colors such as pale green and purple, and the dark green on the foot ring gives it a pop impression. Like "BEIGE x RED", it is a well-balanced work that combines elegance and pop.

Yuki's leopard design is also stylish and recommended.

Tenmoku silver leopard pattern coffee bowl. Although it has a "leopard design", it is a coffee cup and saucer with an elegant appearance. The pattern looks silver and gives a calm and sophisticated impression. The design of the handle has been carefully designed to create an even more elegant look.

I personally recommend Yuki's Mug Seeds.

The first thing that attracts me is its beautiful shape, its deep, soft curves, and the soft feel of porcelain when you hold it in your hand. It holds a generous 250ml and is recommended for cafe au lait, soup, etc. There is also a design on the inside of the mug, which gives you a sense of Yuki's commitment.
